Area 15 starts construction on outdoor festival and event space

Construction has begun on a new multi-use outdoor event space at Area 15, the immersive art and entertainment complex located just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

“The Grounds” will span more than four acres and will serve a space for festivals, carnivals, conventions, concerts, and other large scale events with crowds up to 20,000 people. It’s expected to be ready to host events this summer.

Featuring views of the Las Vegas Strip, The Grounds is located next to Area 15’s A-Lot, a 32,000-square foot outdoor space surrounded by large-scale art installations with a desert-festival vibe.

Area 15 also has two indoor event spaces: The Portal, which features 360-degree projection mapped walls, and the Sanctuary, a circular bamboo volcano structure.

All spaces are utilized regularly as part of the Area 15 experience, but can also be reserved for private events.

Area 15 is home to a number of interactive experiences, including anchor tenant Meow Wolf, who opened their Omega Mart installation in February. The Portal will also host a performance by the Disco Fries on Sat., March 13.
