Insomniac to stream select EDC features via EDC Curated

For fans unable to travel to Las Vegas this weekend for the 16th annual Electric Daisy Carnival, Insomniac is bringing a portion of the experience to you with “EDC Curated,” a new online feature airing daily during the festival from 10:30 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. CT via Insomniac.com.

Veering away from the typical live video broadcast employed by other festivals, EDC Curated will instead consist of rich video features capturing everything from the grand stages to the elaborately decorated stags to artist interviews and other behind-the-scenes action.

“For years, I’ve been debating whether or not we should broadcast EDC Vegas online, but after watching other events adopt live-streaming, I felt that a traditional approach wasn’t for us,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac.

“With EDC Curated, we are producing a unique experience that allows those watching around the world to select and view handpicked footage that highlights different aspects of the show. In doing so, we also preserve the experience for those fans that attend in the flesh.”

EDC Curated, produced in collaboration with 7UP, will utilize more than 50 cameras to capture the action at its eight stages and among the festival grounds at carnival rides, art installations, and more.

Footage shared via EDC Curated will only be available live and won’t be rebroadcasted.

The team at LessThan3 developed the technology behind the EDC Curated interface.

EDC Las Vegas will welcome a record-breaking 400,000 fans at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway over the three-day event, set for June 20, 21, and 22.
