A turn of the calendar to a new year means a number of Vegas DJs are making moves as some venue contracts expire and others start anew.
No official 2016 Vegas DJ residency roster announcements have yet been made, but here’s what we’ve gathered so far:
Lil Jon has moved from Wynn’s XS and Surrender to take up new residency with Hakkasan, with dates currently scheduled in January and February.
The Stafford Brothers are back at Light at Mandalay Bay, after a brief run at LiFE/Foxtail/SLS.
Laidback Luke also appears to be moving back to Light, after a year at Wynn’s Surrender and Encore Beach Club (he spent 2014 with both Light and LiFE and 2013 with Hakkasan/Wet Republic).
3LAU seems to be all over the place, having performed at SLS’s Foxtail/LiFE, Drai’s, Hakkasan, and Omnia last year. So far he has dates scheduled at Omnia and Hakkasan.
Calvin Harris and Tiesto will continue their multi-year residencies at Hakkasan and Omnia.
Light Nightclub struggled to find its stride in 2015 after venue management changed twice last year. In addition to Laidback Luke and the Stafford Brothers, Morgan Page and Baauer are also notable bookings. Other initial 2016 dates are filled with Stellar, E-Rock, DJ Mustard, Jayceeoh, and Steve Powers.
A lot of mystery surrounds what Foxtail at SLS has planned for 2016. The only notable acts scheduled so far are Borgore and Nelly, along with a few one-off events and a two-night run with DJ Hollywood. It was rumored late last year that the nightclub and dayclub venue would steer away from DJs in favor of more hip hop this year.
Stay tuned — we’ll add to this list as new information arises.
