Electric Daisy Carnival officially cancels 2020 Las Vegas event

After postponing from May to October, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas organizers today announced the 2020 event will not go on as planned due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The EDC Las Vegas 2021 dates are May 21, 22, and 23.

Insomniac Events founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella made the announcement today via Instagram. In the post, Rotella said they had worked to keep the event on track for October by developing a free two-step testing plan that would include at-home and on-site COVID-19 testing of all attendees.

“Unfortunately, we just learned that the medical advances necessary to pull this off will not be ready in time, which is why I’m making this announcement today,” said Rotella.

“Regardless, I’m proud of our team for continuing to believe & work so hard throughout the process.”

All EDC 2020 passes — including Camp EDC and shuttles — are being honored for the 2021 event and will automatically be transferred. Fans instead seeking a refund of their 2020 purchase can visit edclasvegas.com/verify for details.

Additional tickets for EDC Las Vegas 2021 (made available from fans who’ve cancelled their roll-over tickets) will go on sale Thurs., Aug. 6 at 10 a.m. PT.

EDC Las Vegas 2021 will celebrate the event’s 25th anniversary. It was previously held in various locations in Southern California before moving to Las Vegas in 2011.

Anticipated EDC Week 2021 dates are May 19-26.
